Its contoured gel protectors mold comfortably around the mouthpiece inside of the bit rings and minimize friction and rubbing. These unique guards keep the bit perfectly straight in the hose's mouth allowing for better turning and more responsiveness. 

When inserting onto the bit, the guards should be wet to prevent breakage.
